Quick vs Refer
Two assist depths. Quick answers from model knowledge with no retrieval; Refer lets the Chief of Staff check, and recommend an expert or a service.
Quick
Brief answers from model knowledge. No retrieval tools. Use it for the questions you'd ask across a desk: a definition, a reminder, a rephrase. It is fast and it is not grounded — the answer card says QUICK so nobody mistakes it for a sourced claim.
Refer
Chief of Staff checks and may recommend an expert or service. The Chief of Staff reads the page, runs a light source check, and either answers with sources or shows a routing recommendation. Refer is the default for anything that will end up in a document.

| A specialist's judgement | Refer → run the recommended consult |
| Three views on a strategy question | Refer → run the panel |
Where to switch
Click the path pill in the composer; the menu shows both options with their one-line descriptions and a check on the active one. The pill reads ⚡ Quick or Refer so the mode is visible before you type.
