Three citation jobs — live CoT rows, numbered-pill hover, collapsed Chicago References.
Citations do three different jobs. Do not mix them.
While the model works, live source rows in the reasoning track show what was retrieved. That is the chain-of-thought evidence rail.
In the answer body, a numbered pill ([1], [2]) opens a hover for claim verification: publisher, title, a plain-text excerpt, and an open link. The hover is not a Chicago bibliography line and it does not show a match percentage.
At the end of the answer, Chicago References collapse into a bibliography. That list is for the reader who wants the full citation set — not for the hover.
Quick turns may cite less. Research, Reason, Panel, and Catalogue usually cite more because they retrieve more.
