Insert the answer or artifact into the open canvas. Not a second document.
Add to page is the rail action that writes the settled answer or artifact into the open canvas on this Consultation.
It does not invent a second document. The canvas you already opened is the destination. Progress steps may show while the insert runs; you can cancel an in-flight insert when the Face offers Cancel.
Use Add to page when you want the prose on the page. Use Export and share when you need a downloadable file from a Document. Compile on Research or Catalogue may also produce child pages — that is composition, not a duplicate Add to page product.
